We went to Texas last week and had a really great time! My family is soooooo sweet! When my dad picked us up from the airport he had the goodies in the picture below waiting for us along with Welch's sparkling grape juice for me and Fat Tire for Doug!
Turns out my sister was plotting too. I thought it was a little strange that she was in no hurry to drive to see me (about a 10 minute drive), but she was just trying to surprise me by decorating her brand spankin' new house...
The trip to Texas turned out to be very relaxing, and I'm pretty sure I gained all of my allotted 1st trimester pounds in just one week! My mom pretty much fed us nonstop the entire time we were there! Plus I had to make a few scheduled stops to some of my favorite (and super fattening) places to eat like Juan in a Million and Magnolia Pancake House YUM! We swam, relaxed, and played games, and it was great to spend time with my family and to finally have my sister, brother-in-law, and nephew living in the same country!
The rest of the time was spent with the world's greatest friends - minus a few who had conflicts, and we missed them dearly! We went to Bob & Lily's where Alex shot guns for the first time in his life and caught his first bass! We also may have set off some exploding targets which was tons of fun! Brittin and Ryan met us at a Korean restaurant. I'm so glad we all ended up in the same area, because it is always so nice to see two of my all time favorite people in the world! We were also lucky enough to spend time with Quina, Kimble, & Jason!
Ryan met up with us again when Alex had his first Dave & Buster's experience! Then we had a blast spending time with Amanda, Becky, and Michaela! We met up for lunch with Loralan, Mick, Liz, Robert, & Quina at Mi Tierra, and it was wonderful seeing everyone! As I post these pictures I'm realizing I really should have taken TONs more, because I didn't really get many people in my pictures... silly me! All in all it was a fantastic trip, and I wish everyone would just move here so we could hang out all the time!
Tomorrow morning is the first ultrasound, so I'll be sure and post tomorrow! Hopefully all will go well and this will ease some of our hesitation in becoming 100% excited in fear of being terribly let down! Say a bedtime prayer for us tonight... initially I was excited, but I have to admit, I'm a little nervous about tomorrow morning now!
